The Committee
 
The committee meets four times a year. It is our intention that the committee be made up of people having interests in a variety of neurological conditions. If you feel that you may have something to offer us, whether it be that you belong to a group that is not represented on our committee, or whether you have previous experience of sitting on committees like ours, then please do not hesitate in contacting us. We would be dlighted to have you on board.

Our next meeting dates are 9th December 2009, 14th April 2010, 13 October 2010 (to include AGM) & 1st December 2010.
 
The venue is Sue Ryder Care Cuerden Hall and the meetings will start at 1.00pm.

Tracey Cole (MS Society)

Tracey works as a Service Development Officer for the MS Society covering Lancashire, South Cumbria and Greater Manchester. Prior to this role; she worked for a number of years in the NHS as a Directorate Manager. Her roles included work at the Walton Centre in Liverpool and at Leighton Hospital, Crewe. Tracey is part of the Neurological Alliance Committee and also chairs a Network Group which brings together staff who work for a number of Neurological Third Sector Organisations across Lancashire and Cumbria so that together they can bring about positive change for those affected by a neurological condition. This group links closely with the Neurological Alliance and meets on a quarterly basis. Ian Wardle (Epilepsy Action)
Ian has lived with epilepsy most of his life. He is an accredited volunteer/volunteer speaker for Epilepsy Action in the North West and his research interests include the impact epilepsy has on children and adolescents studying at school, college and university.

 

Christine Whelan (MS Society)

Christine is a member of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Regional Committee of the MS society. She is a lead volunteer on the health and social services committee and currently helps with yoga for people with MS

 
Margarat Low (Dystonia Society)
Margaret Low has Spasmodic Torticollis, which is a form of Dystonia

affecting the neck and spine.She is the Treasurer of the  Lancashire

Branch of The Dystonia Society. For the past 7 years she has worked as a volunteer at the Royal Preston Hospital's Dystonia Clinic. Margaret was a founded member of LASCNA

and continues this role representing people with Dystonia.

 
Graham and Lilian Kenyon (MS Society)
Graham & Lilian are both Welfare assistants with the Blackburn and Darwen and Dsitrict Branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Graham is a full time carer for Lilian who has lived with MS for the past 19 years. Lilian is joint minute taker for the committee.
